Dakar and Brussels

Moataz Nasr won the Ministry of Culture Prize of the 5th Dakar Biennale with the video The Water, projected in a dark room with water on the floor.

Dakar Biennale is presented in Belgium through the recontextualisation by Simon Njami.

Premio Suzzara

Moataz Nasr won the second prize of the Premio Suzzara with the work My Passport.

Cairo, December 2002. The new video-installation El Tabla in the new space of Townhouse Gallery.

Iran

Tehran, December 2002. Moataz Nasr proposed The Water to the Second Biennial of Contemporary Painting of the Islamic World. If the work is accepted, it will be presented in Tehran in December 2002.

Spain

Camargo (Cantabria), 24 January – 29 March 2003. A site specific work for the group show “EX-IN” in Espacio C.

Gran Canaria Island, 26 April 2003. A site specific work for the group show “Espacios Mestizos”.

Sweden

Spring 2003. Residency in Sweden for one month and a half. Workshop and exhibition: Three Egyptian Artists (Moataz Nasr, Wael Shawky and Amal el Ghany Kenawy) and Three Swedish Artists.
