What's in Between

What's in Between is a labyrinth. Long sticks of wood hug the floor and the ceiling, but the room is too low for them, so they bend smoothly, adjusting themselves to the situation. We can walk around those huge obstacles, so big and at the same time so unstable. It's difficult to imagine what can happen if we hurt them with our shoulder: maybe the long sticks will fall down, maybe we'll fall or maybe the entire ceiling will fall down on the floor. We have to be very careful, athletic in the slalom, avoiding the contacts; or we can walk through the room without any attention, without taking care of what can happen, and then we'll see.

The work was shown in Cairo in the year 2000: in the personal exhibition in Townhouse Gallery 2000 and in the group show The Palm Tree in Mashrabia Gallery. In the exhibition The Palm Tree, the work was made of different ropes tighten together.
